- One of the big attractions of LED lighting these days is their ability to work both AC wall power and DC battery power. With the latter option complementing a mobile, running gun style of shooting. Some manufacturers provide their own proprietary battery system. Like this ARRI LoCaster. Most likely, they've done this to guarantee quality and consistency of performance. So they've got their own proprietary battery on the back, and it works great. A lot of other brands allow the use of batteries you might already have on hand via the use of adapters. Your camera batteries are the most common example. Here are a few examples. On the big battery front, we have two industry standards that are categorized by the actual mount, used to attach the battery to the camera. One is the Anton/Bauer Gold Mount.
