- [Instructor] The most successful online courses are ones in which learners feel empowered and openly communicate and collaborate with the instructor, as well as with other learners. If you want to create a culture in which learners are willing to communicate and collaborate online, it's important to establish trust and rapport early on. So how can you do this? Well, the goal is to help your learners to feel comfortable, confident, and supported. A critical first step is to have learners become familiarized with you, the instructor, as well as their peers. Now, this isn't easy, considering that you're not meeting in-person, but there are ways that you can do this online. First, allow learners to get to know you. I highly recommend taking some time to create your profile and share it with the learners. Almost all learning management systems allow you to customize your profile and your bio.
