Format Assistant
- Nobody's perfect, but Final Draft can clean up your mess after you make it. It involves a digital bird dog called Format Assistant. To start Format Assistant, find its menu item under the Tools menu. The Format Assistant not only appears, it starts sniffing for mistakes immediately. It calls mistakes Rule violations, so you'd better be polite. As you can see, our first rule is that elements should not be blank. Format Assistant suggests its correction, delete the blank element. If I clicked on Fix, Format Assistant would delete the mistake and move on to the next violation. Or you could click on Next to move on and come back to this later, or on Ignore to forget about this mistake, presumably because you did it intentionally. I'll click on Fix. Now Format Assistant has found a character name that has no dialogue, a definite no-no. However, its suggested solution, to delete the character name, is not what I want.…
