Choosing a template file

- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about creating a new file from a template. This is one of the most common ways to create a new file and a template is just simply a starting point for any new project with a bunch of pre-configured settings. So we access templates when we're creating a new file, and you can do so over here with the new button. Now it's underneath the models item here, but you can think of a model as a project. The two terms are synonymous in Revit. Now, in the new project window that appears, you will see a list of templates here. Now in the out-of-the-box installation that I'm using, I have two choices, imperial multi-discipline and metric multi-discipline, and I will be demonstrating from the imperial multi-discipline template. If you are using Revit LT, you won't have access to the multi-discipline template, so just choose the default one that shows there.
