- [Narrator] Here are a few environment variables. HOME is your user's home directory. HOSTNAME is the name of the computer. EDITOR is the name of the computer's default editor. Take the time to explore some of these environment variables and keep in mind that this is not even close to a comprehensive list. There are a lot more environment variables than can fit on a slide.
