Ways to be proactive

Ways to be proactive

- My final Jira use tip is to be proactive. Always start the day by checking a board or dashboard to see new or important items. Make any needed updates, and then start work. Don't wait for Jira to send email notifications. Notification messages can be delayed, blocked, or filtered. It's better to use boards, dashboards, filters and reports to monitor activity. Also, don't rely too much on export functions. At one company, an exec insisted that we print Jira items and put them in a binder for review each morning. What a super waste of time and paper. As soon as data is exported or printed, it's stale very quickly. A better strategy is to teach users how to find relevant information on their own.
