Exporting issues

There are many ways to export issue data, but before you do, make sure that Jira doesn't already do what you're trying to accomplish. Exported data is never as up to date as real-time Jira information. The best export method depends on the intended use. To simply save the information in a different format, choose the printable, Microsoft Word, or HTML format. This works well for offline viewing or to create a personal poor man's secondary backup. To manipulate the data, save it in a structured way, or import it into another Jira application. Choose the Excel, Google Sheets, CSV, or XML format. You can open CSV data as a spreadsheet to do your own analysis. To share data with other applications, choose the RSS format. Please note that there are some caveats to be aware of. First, exporting issues from the user interface is not a robust backup method. It's definitely not the same as a database backup.
