Creating a project
- In a DAW, I'll sometimes use modules like the Dynamic EQ for sound design, or the Vintage Tape module to add a bit of saturation. But I really like working in stand-alone mode for audio mastering. Working in stand-alone mode allows you to focus on the mastering process and helps you resist temptation to continue tweaking syn parameters, or edit midi in the mix process or production process. Now that you have an idea of the basic workflow within a DAW, let's take a look at creating a brand new project in stand-alone mode. Audio files loaded into Ozone in stand-alone mode is called the project. Projects contain all audio files as well as settings for all modules. You can add audio files by going to the plus sign in the upper left. Navigating, in this case, we're right in the folder we want to be in. Selecting a file and clicking open, or I can also go to any folder on my computer, and drag some files right in. Once we've done this, let's go to file and click save. It's going to ask…
