- [Instructor] If you want to attach a point cloud into AutoCAD, you must use a recap file. Now the recap file is an Autodesk proprietary file that stores millions of points captured from the laser scanner. Recap organizes the data points in a way that makes it much quicker to navigate through AutoCAD, allowing us to visualize, measure, and build on the points inside most Autodesk CAD platforms. We've created the recap file already using the registered point clouds, so let's go ahead and see how we use PointSense to load that into our drawing. So let's navigate to our exercise files, we're going to open, desktop, exercise files, chapter 01_02, and now we're going to go up to our PointSense Basic tab on our ribbon menu, and we're going to come across to our point cloud menu here.
