- [Instructor] When you have collected data that can be used for linear regression, you can analyze it using the data analysis tool pack add in in Microsoft Excel. In this movie, I will show you how to do that. My sample file is 0803 regression, and you can find it in the chapter eight folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook, I have a single sheet and on it I have a list of data that matches up the number of customers that came into a store during a day and the amount of sales for that day. And I collected it for an entire month. And if I scroll down, I see that I have the values all the way down to row 32, so that is 31 days worth of data. Let's start by a rephrase from let's start. To begin linear regression, you go to the data tab on the ribbon, and then in the analysis group click data analysis. That opens the data analysis dialogue box.
