How are requirements different?
- Though we may use many of the same tasks and techniques for requirements in a digital transformation, we need to adapt the approach of how we go about the work and add some new techniques as well. When a machine or system can learn patterns, rules, logic, and decisions for itself, and may not need explicit specifications for a programmer, the traditional writing of specifications changes dramatically in favor of guiding the process and system to the correct and valuable business and user outcomes. Writing a specification document for the requirements process will not be useful in many cases. With digital transformations, we need an increased focus in three areas. First, customer focus. This includes the end to end customer experiences. For example, you may lead the focus on decreasing customer touchpoints rather than how to improve a single touchpoint to bring more value to the customer's experience with the organization.
