- Think about the last time you heard someone say they were wrong, not wrong about a restaurant or a movie, wrong about their beliefs. Can you think of anyone? It's okay if you can't, it's rare to see someone change their mind. In some organizations, it's even seen as bad leadership. Either way, it's not something you see. A University of California physicist named Robert Mueller spent years arguing against global climate change. Later, his own research found very strong evidence of temperature increases. He concluded that he was wrong and that humans are to blame for climate change. Mueller thought the facts against him were too strong to ignore, so he changed his mind and then wrote a long op-ed piece about why his new findings showed that he was wrong. That's how you should apply your critical thinking in your data science team. It's easy to be skeptical of someone else's ideas. What's hard is being skeptical of your own.
