Solution: Highlight dashboard using PowerPoint
(upbeat music) - [Instructor] I love a good PowerPoint challenge. Okay, I will maintain this product page here, but I do want to change this. Again introducing the product dashboard, how about that, okay? And then I'll go here, I'll go ahead and actually get rid of my notes, and I want to remove this link so that when I copy this file it doesn't always copy that link. Now that link is valuable but it's also on that product page. So go ahead and remove link. Super important too if someone else is presenting this you don't want them to accidentally go to Power BI during the presentation. All right, I'll go ahead and copy and paste. Okay, now let me come up. I want to highlight some different components of the dashboard. So I want to draw focus to this left-hand side. All right, I'm going to go ahead and keep the full dashboard and go to my next slide in here, I'll do my insert. I'll go ahead and add a shape. I'll go ahead and highlight across those. I don't want to completely blank them out, I just want to be able to draw focus. So I'm going to right-click, go to that format shape, and then adjustment transparency. Of course now this is just personal, but I like people to know that there's stuff underneath there, right? It helps them to draw focus to this one area. All right, I'm going to go back and insert, I'll do a little bracket shape here, and the shape and size completely up to you. Okay, I'm going to go adjust that outline, make it just a little bit bigger, and I do want to make the color stand out just a little bit. So I'll make that orange. All right, I'm going to zoom-in. Bring that in just a little bit. Okay, perfect. All right, and then I'm going to insert another text box, and I'll make that a solid fill, and I'll say this shows quantity ordered, and the grand total percentage of what's been ordered over time. It is sorted by highest to lowest JT percentage. All right, now, go ahead and make this a little bit bigger, go ahead and center that. Okay, great. All right, I'm going to go ahead and copy this shape and I'm going to apply it over here. Let me zoom back out, and this I'm going to move it, so that I can draw focus to this list. I'm just going to capitalize on what I've already created here. And copy and paste that over, I might need the sizing, Now, this actually is going to show, this shows the cost of each, let me do list price 'cause that's the actual field of use. This shows the list price of each product and is sorted lowest to highest price. And again, I want to insert bracket shape, okay? And then change that color, make it a little bit heavier. So it stands out. All right. I think here I can, here we go. I might need to size just a little bit. Okay, great. All right, let me go copy this one more time, and post down below. All right, let me go, grab the shape and I'm going to change my transparency again. I mean that format shape box, okay? And then I'll again copy this, paste. It just my sizes there. Perfect. And then I'll insert my text box, I'll go ahead and give that a solid white fill, go ahead and make it centered. This stacked bar shows only items that are back ordered lost, or returned. It shows the percentage of each product and its status. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and increase the size of that. There we go. Okay, and if I want it to stand out just a little bit more, I can actually go in and adjust that formatting of this box. I'm going to go ahead and give it a shape outline and use that same shape outline color that I used for my lines. Okay, great. Let me just give it a quick review, shows the whole dashboard, shows each component of the dashboard, allowing me to present it. Okay, great, I'll go ahead and save my work and that completes this challenge.
