Myth busting: What COBIT is and is not
- [Narrator] Over the years, there have been many frameworks developed to assist in the understanding, designing and adopting enterprise governance over information and technology. Although COBIT has established itself as a generally accepted information and technology governance framework, it's important to clarify what it is and what it is not. Let's start with what COBIT is. It is a framework for governing and managing enterprise information and technology, which means it's flexible and adaptable to specific enterprise needs. It is a business framework that focuses on the whole enterprise. Now I will admit that you won't see business processes in this framework, but it focuses on the information that is generated, processed, stored, secured, and disseminated through IT processes.
