- [Instructor] In my opinion, online group discussions are one of the most powerful features of a learning management system. They empower students to discuss course content in a safe and protected platform. It also extends learning beyond the classroom and helps students to communicate and collaborate. I've always been amazed at the level of engagement that students have in these online discussions. Let's take a look at how to create a a discussion inside of Canvas. First, from the course navigation bar, I'm going to go down to Discussions and I'll click here. And this brings up my Discussions page. Now, I don't have any discussions in here yet, but once I do, you'll see the different sections. First, we have Pinned Discussions.
