- The Fan-Out/Fan-in Pattern is another durable function pattern that works quite similarly to its name. Let's see how. - In the Fan-Out/Fan-In Pattern, multiple functions can be run at the same time. This is the fan out part. Once all the functions have completed, the respective results are collected and returned to the orchestrator function, the fan in part. Here, some final work to process the results is done. Typically, it's some sort of aggregation for the results. This pattern is quite handy when you need to execute a sizable number of self-contained, small or repetitive tasks that can easily be delegated to multiple workers and need to make sure all tasks have successfully completed. Imagine an online price aggregator that collects all the best hotel room rates. You'd typically search for a location and give a range of dates as your input.
