- [Instructor] One of the big differences between Airtable and a normal spreadsheet app is that in Airtable, your columns, also known as your fields, are each set to a specific field type. Airtable has 28 different field types to choose from which you can see on the screen here. This course will be covering 15 of these field types which are the ones highlighted in pink. Each field type has its own unique set of special properties. For example, Single Line Text is the type of field that you would choose for typing small amounts of text, such as a person's name or an event name. But Long Text is the type of field that you would choose for lengthier text, such as multiple sentences or even multiple paragraphs. And Attachment field allows you to upload any sort of files that you'd like: photos, videos, PDF, files, anything.
