- [Instructor] Successful projects begin and end with communication. Communication is a big topic for project teams. When used properly, communication helps keep projects on time, on budget, within the agreed upon scope, but the opposite is also true. A misunderstanding can lead to big unplanned costs and delays. Here are a few suggestions you can adopt from 5S to help you avoid confusion in your team. Sort out any communication channels your team should not use. For example, texting, unsafe video conference services where confidentiality can be compromised, or personal email. Sort out complicated jargon, technical terms, or unique acronyms that are not known to all team members. These usually create confusion.
