- Change is the only constant, am I right? (laughs) I get it, it's overused, but it is true. Honestly, the change we're all collectively facing right now is in many ways unprecedented. It's easy to send yourself into an emotional tailspin, so let's get grounded. First, be clear on what is actually being disrupted. When you look at the big picture, you'll often find that the change isn't as world-shaking as some clickbait headline would lead you to believe. Ask yourself, how is this change impacting the function of my job? Are certain aspects now more important, less important? Will things get easier or harder? Will things change immediately, or will it take some time? Then, get a support system in place to help you through this. If the change is substantial, everyone in your department or even your company is experiencing that same emotional whirlwind as you are, and the odds are that you feed off of each other's anxiousness, and it all gets worse.
