- What's the best way to show someone you understand a difficult circumstance they're going through? Help them solve that circumstance. When you do so, something pretty cool happens. You have a real impact on the person you're helping. That's leading with love and you end up helping yourself too. I'll explain with a case study. I met Susan, a nurse in a coffee shop in Vancouver. I was sitting at a table next to her and noticed her tearing up as she was reading something. I asked if everything was okay. She introduced herself and explained that she was reading a letter from a former patient who was quite unwell at one point, but had now recovered. The patient was thanking Susan for going above and beyond to help her out of a major circumstance.
