- Most projects use some type of collaboration tools. But on remote projects, having access to file sharing, team sites, and virtual tools is imperative. Project progress and information has to be visible and up-to-date and your team needs a shared space for all project documentation. So let's discuss some of the collaboration platforms and some specific project tools to help you collaborate with virtual teams. Many organizations use one platform for their employees work. So I'm going to talk about this from the perspective of the platform or tool suite. There are many options. So to be brief, I'll focus on three commonly used ones. Microsoft, Google, and Atlassian. Microsoft 365 has most of the basic tools you need; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Microsoft Teams focuses on collaboration and SharePoint focuses on shared document management and storage.
