- Hiring the right talent is never enough. Unless people are psychologically engaged, their productivity will be only a fraction of what it could be. At best, people would do what is required. They will not go beyond these requirements to suggest improvements and innovations. You can also bet that unless they are psychologically engaged, top talent will inevitably leave for better pastures. We've seen many cases where smart and ambitious young professionals view a global company as merely a training ground. And they jump ship after a year or two. Cultivating a high level of engagement requires building both hard and soft ties between the individual and the organization.
