When AI becomes a leadership problem

When AI becomes a leadership problem
Every week, I work with senior leaders at some of the world's largest organizations. And the companies that are struggling with AI consistently have one thing in common. Leadership hasn't kept pace with the technology. The problem is rarely access to the technology. The real challenge is knowing how to lead when the technology starts influencing real decisions. Here's what's actually happening. AI is pushing decisions faster, surfacing more data and automating more of what used to require human effort. And that creates a dangerous illusion that because AI is handling more, leaders can step back. In fact, the opposite is true. When AI is in the decision loop, someone still has to set the direction, decide which recommendation to act on and be accountable when the outcome lands. That someone is you. AI doesn't remove leadership responsibility. It concentrates it. And that becomes real the moment an AI-informed decision lands on your desk.
