The skills that matter more as AI advances
The more capable AI becomes, the more valuable certain human skills get. That might seem counterintuitive, but the data is consistent. As organizations automate more of their analytical and procedural work, the capabilities that cannot be automated become the differentiating factor. The more AI can do, the more clearly human skills stand out. In my work and in my book, Future Skills, I have identified the capabilities that will define success in a digital world. The ones AI cannot replicate, critical thinking, ethical judgment, emotional intelligence, the ability to build trust and lead through ambiguity, will all rise in value as more work becomes automated and commoditized. So do curiosity, humility and a growth mindset. Because the best leaders do not assume they already have the answers. They stay open, ask better questions and keep learning.
