The most effective executives I work with regularly step back to reflect upon the impact they're having, not because something has gone wrong but because they care deeply about leaving every person, team, and situation better than they found it. Without pausing to step back, even the most well-intentioned executives can lose sight of the influence they're having. Without regular reflection, it's easy to fall into habits that no longer serve you or your team and organization, allowing ineffective patterns to be repeated and opportunities for growth to be missed.
