- As a senior leader, how you communicate, both in writing and in conversations, defines your leadership success. Every word matters. Every email you send, every update you share, every point you make in a meeting will either strengthen or weaken your leadership presence. So many leaders communicate poorly and, by doing so, create confusion and weaken their ability to lead effectively. Precise and intentional communication creates clarity as well as alignment, and positions you as an influential leader that others will want to follow. In my leadership coaching work, I share a four-step process to help leaders optimize their communication. Step one is to know your purpose.
