"Tell me something that's not on your resume"

"Tell me something that's not on your resume"

- A cheeky interview question that doesn't infrequently pop up, but when asked often stumps candidates is, "Tell me something that I cannot find on your resume." To prepare for this question, follow two simple steps. First, choose a personal project, extracurricular activity, or interest that will, A, make your eyes light up when you talk about it, and, B, you have tangible examples for. For context, the reason you want to pick something outside of your core work responsibilities is that interviewers often ask this question with the curiosity to find out more about you as an individual. Give them another dimension of your candidacy that will complement what they already know about you as a professional. You want to go beyond fluffy statements here.
