- [Lecturer] As a pen tester, you need to develop the technical skills to test systems. And as part of that, you need to develop and maintain your personal toolkit, and manage your approach to testing. You'll need tools to carry out specific techniques, such as scanning or enumeration, which you'll use as part of the reconnaissance phase of your work, exploitation tools and post exploitation tools for such things as tunneling and maintaining persistence. Kali is a great platform for these tools and comes with much of what you'll need pre-loaded. You'll need to manage how you access the thousands of exploits, which can be sent to a target in order to achieve a scan, a penetration, or a privilege escalation. Effective management of and rapid access to these exploits is critical for taking the OFCCP examination, as well as ensuring high professional performance as a pen tester, to achieve this, you need to go beyond the search…
