Welcome to Lesson 5.1. Understand Detecting Edge 3D Printing Problems. In this lesson, we're going to look at a practical application that uses Kafka. And we're going to bring into this lesson a few concepts. One is edge computing, and the other is 3D printing, which is a manufacturing process. The first question you may be wondering if you don't know about edge computing is, what exactly is edge computing? And one of the ways to describe this is the data gap that's developing between data center traffic and regular data traffic outside of data centers. So for instance, the green line here is the usable data created per year. And this is based on a study from Cisco Global Cloud Index. And I think it's important to understand they use the word usable data because there's oftentimes some discussion is whether all data is usable or not. And the important thing to remember is data center traffic per year is the black line here. And there's a huge gap between those two. And basically what…
