Microphone
- We all have a bunch of interesting stuff to say during our streams but if nobody can hear it, what's it all worth? That's why in this video, we'll go over a few microphone tips to get your voice heard. Some live streamers choose to use their internal mic whether it be from their desktop or mobile device. This is an okay option in some cases but if you're trying to sound state-of-the-art an external mic is the way to go. If live streaming from a desktop, there are thankfully some high quality affordable options nowadays. The ideal frequency range for external streaming mix is 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz. They should also be multi patterned mics which means they can pick up all three polar patterns, cardioid which picks up sound primarily from their front. Bidirectional which picks up equal sound from the front and rear. An omni-directional which equally picks up sound from a 360 degree angle. There are also some desktop streamers that prefer to stream from larger headphones with a connected mic. You can get similar sound quality from these mics as well. So it's really a matter of preference. However, if streaming from a mobile device, a headphone with a built-in mic is the recommended route to take. Once you look and sound great, you're almost there. So in our final video of this chapter, we'll go over some staging tips to make sure all your work isn't for nothing. So stay tuned.
