Using an active board

An active board is where you can see and update work in progress for a project. Users spend a lot of time there in JIRA, so rather than create some projects first, let's look at an existing active board and learn the basics. We'll drill down on a Scrum project, which is a type of software development project, Although these days, many types of projects in JIRA, including non-software development projects, start out with active boards by default. In this particular project, the last place I visited was the active board for a sprint, which is a time box of work in Scrum. So JIRA remembers that and takes me to the active board the next time I select the project. But we can also use the project menu along the top to navigate to the board if we aren't already on it.
