As we saw when we were creating projects, Jira Cloud offers a type of project that Jira Data Center does not, team-managed projects. All of the projects we created this lesson in Jira Cloud were company-managed projects, which is the only type of projects offered in Jira Data Center. But team-managed projects in Jira Cloud are worth understanding and possibly taking advantage of. The choice between a company-managed and team-managed project comes down to the trade-offs of centralized versus decentralized project configuration. With company-managed projects, an overall JIRA site administrator is needed to make many types of project changes, to create custom metadata like workflows, issue types, or screens. So as a project administrator of a company-managed project, if I need an entirely new set of issue types and complex custom workflows for my project, I'm going to have to describe that need to a Jira administrator and get them to create that custom metadata for me.
