Welcome to Lesson 3, Creating and Customizing Projects and Boards. In the previous lesson, we used an active board for an already created project to learn how to track and update the status of issues in JIRA. But obviously, you'll need to create your own projects in JIRA, and the default configuration of projects and boards may not be the best fit for your situation's needs. Jira allows for a LOT of customization, as we discussed earlier, and we'll see where some of these customization points are in this lesson, as well as perform some customizations. First we'll create some new projects in Jira by selecting from project templates that Jira provides. These projects will be for the opening of a new coffee shop, and we'll work with these projects throughout the rest of the course. Next we'll see where project administrators can view and modify project level settings, we'll make a few changes ourselves.
