Creating and editing issues
Let's quickly see how to create and edit issues in JIRA before we move on to the next lesson. Here we are at our JIRA home and the top menu bar always has the big blue create button. You can use that to create a new issue from wherever you are in JIRA. This gives us a pop-up screen where we can input details in the form of field values for this new issue. The last project we visited is the default project for this issue, but we could of course change that, so we don't actually have to be currently in a project in JIRA to create an issue in that project. We can specify what issue type we want the new issue to be. In this case, we'll specify a story. And the status has defaulted to the initial status in this project's workflow, but we could change that also if needed. Let's provide a summary for this new issue. This is basically the issue's title. And since it's the most critical field to identify an issue from its thumbnail on a board, I like to keep the summary field short. Too many…
