Developing the character

James White: When I first started developing these characters I had them on a square palette, because that's how I kind of galvanized Instagram to work in my favor, because Instagram's a great platform to kind of share your work. And that ended up kind of dictating what these things were going to look like in the end. The composition, it's very centered, they're all very consistent, so I have all the wrestlers standing, and they're all the same position and stuff. And, I always choose the background colors to kind of compliment who the character is, whether that's a portion of their costume, whether that's the, to reflective of their crazy personality or something like that. So, the character I'm working on right now is the Undertaker. And this is the sketch that I came up with. I got all the highlights and the shadows, and kind of the design, to a place where I was happy with it.
