- [Instructor] Most change management processes will tell you to start with a change request, but that's not the beginning of the story is it? To continue to belabor our fitness bootcamp analogy before you start exercising, you need to make sure your health and nutrition are giving you the building blocks you need to get fit. You should plan for managing change even during the initial work that will go into the change. Why? So you have end to end traceability all the way back from the production change, to the change request, to the work request. In software engineering this is called requirements traceability. You want to be able to trace a requirement on through to the actual production change and also trace it backwards from a change or deployed artifact back all the way to the requests that initiated it.
