- [Instructor] Some content on the web may be dangerous and lead to a cyber attack. In this segment, we'll discover the many security settings in browsers that can determine whether content is blocked or allowed for a particular site. A web browser provides a graphical user interface to the internet and supports obtaining information in a wide variety of formats, from viewing content on a webpage, to emailing, watching video, chatting, or playing games. Because we spend so much time using a browser, you should take steps to ensure safe browsing and block malicious content. An insecure browser can lead to an attack. For example, while browsing, you could be a victim of a malicious program called a drive-by download that is able to get installed unintentionally by simply clicking on the wrong control.
