- [Instructor] Welcome to this lesson on data loss prevention, or DLP, as well as keys, secrets, and certificates. In this lesson, we'll first talk about data loss prevention and how to do things like detect and monitor for it. However, it's important to understand that data loss prevention is easy to discuss in concept, but can be very hard to apply in practice. After that, we'll talk a little bit about keys, secrets and certificates, and how these things can help us ensure the confidentiality of our data in the cloud. So, getting into data loss prevention, there's three key concepts that we should consider when applying DLP solutions. The first one is discovery of sensitive data that we might be storing in the cloud. And the reason this is important is because the initial discovery of this data is going to allow us to apply techniques within monitoring and enforcement categories.
