- [Instructor] Welcome to this lesson on business impact analysis, or BIA, and functional security requirements. In this lesson, as you might have guessed, we're going to talk about business impact analysis and functional security requirements. All right, jumping in, business impact analysis is largely going to be made up of four major steps. In this first step, we're going to identify assets that we need to be protecting, and then we're going to assess the impact of the potential loss of those assets, and then we're going to prioritize the effort that we're going to put into protecting and recovering those assets in the event of a loss. And then, finally, we're going to build our plan for how to either reduce the likelihood of that event occurring, or reduce the impact of that event.
