- [Instructor] Welcome to this lesson on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Strategies. In this lesson, we'll first talk about an overview of BC and DR, or business continuity and disaster recovery, and then we'll talk about a handful of common scenarios and cloud integration. So as we get started here, I wanted to establish a really strong definition of what the difference is between a BCP and a DRP, which is business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan. Now, in both of these scenarios, a disaster has occurred. The difference between them is that a business continuity is the first step in maintaining essential business functions during and immediately after a disaster, whereas a disaster recovery plan is restoring all services and operations to normal state after a disaster.
