- [Instructor] Our next topic is database management. And so, before we can talk about the auditor's role, let's just go over some basics of databases. So there are different types of databases. First is the hierarchical structure and active directory, for instance, follows hierarchy. So with the root in active directory, we have maybe our organization, so we might be cybrary.it, and then from that we have child levels like east.cybrary.it and west and central, and then below there we may have additional children. And with a hierarchical database, each child has just one parent. Now, we have a network diagram that gives us a more diverse environment where we have a little bit more flexibility. So we still may have relationships, we still are going to have relationships between our basic units, but you can see we don't so much have that child and parent structure like we did before.
