OLS regression and interpretation
- [Instructor] In this chapter we'll be looking at Ordinary Least Squares Regression. Ordinary least squares is one of the most commonly used multivariate techniques. And in this chapter, we'll focus on a range of processes that are associated with OLS regression. OLS is simple and easy to interpret, even when it isn't a primary analysis method. It can often be a useful tool in helping us make more complex modeling decisions. However, do be aware that the theoretical underpinnings of this estimator can sometimes be very restrictive. And this includes that your dependent variable must be continuous. Even so, across all sciences and disciplines, OLS remains by far the most commonly used multivariate method.
