Introduction to graph commands
- Visually exploring data is an important part of better understanding what you have, and often it will also help you present your findings to others. I'm wary of using cliches, but from personal experience, there's a very strong element of truth to the entire 'a picture is worth a thousand words' proverb. Stata has a wide-range of graphical capabilities. In this session, we'll explore some basic graph concepts before moving on to more specific graph functions in other sessions. Here is a small overview of example graphs that Stata can produce. As you can see, Stata offers a range of ways to present data visually. However, one thing that should be noted is that graphing in Stata is often a mix of code and point-and-click refinements.
