- [Instructor] Dependencies are probably the most recognizable part of a Maven POM file. This is after all what most people think about when they think of Maven, and it does a very fine job of managing those dependencies, something we'll talk a little bit more about in another chapter where we go into how those dependencies are managed. But for now, let's take a look at those from the POM perspective. So let's jump back into our Codespaces environment, go back into our project POM, and let's start at our dependency section. Now, you could see that I've organized these by scope. Well, you may not see it, but when we talk a little bit more later about scope, you will see how even the times where I haven't defined scope, there is a default scope, which is compile scope. For each of these dependencies, you will see that we have a group ID listed. Now, as I mentioned, this is a top level organizational structure.
