Procurement vs. ITAM
- [Narrator] Now let's talk about the role of procurement, which is different. We'll talk about in a moment where procurement sits. But procurement manages the financial half of this. As asset management, you're in charge of managing these assets. Let's talk about what procurement does as part of this. Procurement will work with asset management to identify the needed assets. They're going to look very closely at budget, and say, "Hey, we want to set up two or three multimedia rooms, or a Teams room, or a Zoom room, whatever, and we're going to need TVs in there, and speakers, and hardware, and software," et cetera, et cetera. So we're going to put together, based on budget, a list of the needed assets that are going to help to bring this to fruition. They'll also approve and authorize purchase requests. So they're the ones, after working with asset management, we all agree this is what we need. Great. We are the ones who are going to approve and authorize those POs asking for that…
