What is Adobe Firefly?

(graphic whooshing) - You know about generative AI and you know about Adobe. So where does generative AI fit within Adobe's creative tools? In this lesson, we'll take a look at Adobe Firefly, introducing you to its main features, how it's integrated into your favorite Adobe applications, and covering a few examples of how you can leverage its capabilities across your creative projects. Adobe Firefly offers you new ways to ideate, create, and communicate while significantly improving your creative workflow using generative AI. Adobe Firefly is a family of creative generative AI models that are embedded in Adobe's applications. These models are constantly evolving to provide you with innovative solutions in imaging, design, and vectors. These features are part of popular applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Express. The intention behind Adobe Firefly is to help you expand on your creativity. As both a standalone website and a technology that powers several features inside Adobe apps, Firefly offers generative AI tools made specifically to meet your creative needs, use cases, and workflows. Adobe Firefly is designed to be safe for commercial use, enabling organizations to take advantage of its many features to enhance creative workflows across teams. Adobe Firefly powers innovative features. In Adobe Express, there's generate image, insert and remove object, generate text effects, and generate templates. In Adobe's other flagship applications, Adobe Firefly Powers generative fill, generative recolor, generative extend, and generate video. So let's take a closer look at what exactly these features are and how they're helpful to you in delivering your creative projects. Rather than spending hours combing through stock images, you can use the generate image feature to generate high quality images based on the text descriptions you provide. This feature takes your natural language prompts and uses them to create captivating images that you can then use for social media posts, product packaging, flyers, posters, and more. For example, let's say you need to quickly create a product mockup to demonstrate your vision for a potential customer's ad campaign. Using generate image, you can quickly generate beautiful visuals that match your creative vision for the look and feel of social posts, print materials, and more. With insert object in Adobe Express, you can quickly and easily add or replace objects from your selected image. Using this feature, you can brush over any area of the image to select it, and then provide a detailed prompt to add elements to enhance your final product. Similarly, you can use remove object to brush over a selected area of the image and select any unwanted objects to remove. All right, onto the next scenario. Maybe you're creating an image for social channels that's overlaid with text that requires just the right look and feel. There's a place for plain type, but a stylish font can grab attention. With text effects, you can type a simple description into the text effect generator and watch it create stunning textures and styles for your text. Within Adobe Express, you can also find generate template, which allows you to leverage generative AI to quickly create templates for your social posts, event flyers, posters, and even cards, all from a text prompt. But that's not all. Generative AI doesn't stop at Adobe Express. There are features weaved into the other creative tools as well so that you can automate tedious and repetitive tasks, freeing up your time and imagination. Generative fill in Adobe Photoshop is a powerhouse feature. You can create richer, more lifelike images with more control than ever before. Use a simple description to easily add and remove content from your images. Plus, extend your canvas with generative expand. Just click and drag the borders of an image with the crop tool and then fill the extended canvas with new content that blends with the existing image. In Adobe Illustrator, generative recolor helps you to finesse the final adjustments on your work by using text prompts to adjust the hues in your artwork. With this feature, you can quickly and easily recolor your work by providing a description of your desired color palette or theme, creating endless possibilities to experiment and ensure you're meeting your design brief requirements. And if you've ever been in the depths of editing video and audio clips, you're familiar with the frustration when you could use a slightly longer clip to really drive the impact of your story. With generative extend, you can easily add frames, lengthen ambient audio, and eliminate awkward cuts. Generative extend in Premiere Pro lets you easily extend clips in your videos using Firefly generative AI. Generate video is another great addition to help you quickly communicate your creative vision. Generate video lets you use text prompts to create entirely new video clips to help you communicate your creative intent, make B-roll footage to fill gaps, or to add new elements to a shot. So that was a lot, and this is just the beginning. With these features powered by Firefly, you can quickly create, iterate, and remix your work using the same Adobe tools that you're already familiar with, unlocking new possibilities to create and transform your designs. Go give those generative AI features a try.
