Some companies choose to store their data in on-premises data warehouses, while others opt for cloud data warehouses. Let's start with on-premises data warehouses. These are physical data warehouses that are installed and maintained on a company's own servers. The biggest advantage of on-premises data warehouses is control. Companies have complete control over their data, from how it's stored to who has access to it. On-premises data warehouses also tends to be faster and more reliable as the data is stored locally and doesn't need to travel over the internet. However, there are also some downsides to an on-premise data warehouse. One, it can be expensive and time consuming to set up and maintain.
