Requirements elaboration
- A lot of people describe business analysis as collecting or gathering requirements, but requirements aren't things laying around to be collected or gathered. Requirements come from analysis. Stated requirements from users and stakeholders are just the start to a requirements conversation. There is far more to do in order to get to the real requirements. To get the right information, we plan carefully crafted and structured conversations to discover and analyze requirements information. Many call this requirements elicitation and analysis. It's a special dance of getting that information and then analyzing the information, which in turn brings up more questions for us to research and collaborate on. Along the way, we create structured requirements information that elaborates the high level into more detailed information.
