- Whether you are training for a race or working to deliver value with great solutions and business analysis, we measure and monitor to ensure we're getting results. Imagine you set a goal to improve your race time. Perhaps you want to run a five kilometer race faster. If you're serious, you would measure your progress as you train and monitor your training runtimes. You would use these data points to make sure you're on track to perform better on race day. Business analysis is no different. We evaluate and monitor to make sure it's meeting the intended goals as we release increments and continue to improve upon what we have delivered. We may be on a team that delivers small increments at a time, building on the previous and beyond. Evaluating the solution is about measuring, monitoring, and ensuring that changes are actually meeting the intended value, meeting user needs, and aligning with organizational goals.
