To understand RESTful APIs, imagine you are at a restaurant. So you are the client, makes a request and your order goes to the waiter, which is the API. The waiter communicates your order to the kitchen, which is the server, which prepares the food. It means processing your request and once ready, the waiter brings the food back to you, which is the response. So you're requesting the food and the API brings it back. So in technical terms, a RESTful API act as an intermediary between a client and a server. It follows a set of rules to ensure smooth and standardized communication.
